Basketball Recap: Erin Marone's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Churchville-Chili over East

Churchville-Chili played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the East Eagles, falling 63-37. The Saints were probably out for revenge after losing 58-43 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Churchville-Chili lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Erin Marone, who posted eight points. Marone has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Donaghue, who scored six points.

Churchville-Chili's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for East, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Churchville-Chili and Greece Arcadia will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Churchville-Chili is facing Greece Arcadia at the right time seeing as Greece Arcadia is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for East, they will take on Spencerport at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
