The Burges Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the El Paso Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Burges got the win against Andress by a conclusive 22-4. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Burges got a massive performance out of Yoselin Chavira, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Chavira a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Sanchez, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5.
Burges was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .634. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, El Paso made easy work of Jefferson on Friday and carried off a 17-5 victory. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Renatta Gonzalez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Gomez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for El Paso and bumps their season record up to 10-19. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Burges, they pushed their record up to 16-14 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
El Paso's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Burges has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for El Paso, though, as they've been averaging 10.9 hits. Given Burges' sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Burges took their win against El Paso in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
