The Walther Christian Academy Broncos will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Rochelle Zell Jewish Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Walther Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Saturday, Walther Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 87-30 loss at the hands of Fenton. While losing is never fun, Walther Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 518th, while Fenton is ranked 180th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Branden Pettigrew, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Hills, who scored 9 points.
Rochelle Zell Jewish has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Yeshiva 64-37 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rochelle Zell Jewish.
Providence-St. Mel's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Walther Christian Academy's loss dropped theirs to 0-4.
Walther Christian Academy strolled past Rochelle Zell Jewish when the teams last played back in February by a score of 49-35. Does Walther Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rochelle Zell Jewish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
