The Sunset Knights lost against the Braddock Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Sunset was the victim of a rough 53-33 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sunset in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Sunset still got an impressive performance from Bianca Pacheco, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Pacheco is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played.
Braddock was led to victory by Elsa Stier and Yvonne Jebian. Stier dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 11 assists, while Jebian scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jebian has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anna Rubiera, who scored six points.
Sunset has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Braddock, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Sunset will take on the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coral Gables focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Wednesday. As for Braddock, they will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Flanagan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
