Tri-County recap Sept. 26, 2012
Eldon was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in Tri-County. Earlier in the week, the Mustangs triumphed over Versailles 41-8.
Hallsville moved up to 179 from 208 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians were able to make the jump by beating Warsaw 44-17.
Osage's dynamic duo of Bo Dean and Dylan Jeffries proved tough for Blair Oaks to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dean threw for 148 yards and one touchdown and Jeffries had 89 yards receiving. Tyler Jones helped Osage's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Dalton Lindsay was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 186 yards on 17 carries as Hallsville lost to the Falcons. Levi Howard also contributed to the rushing game with 97 yards on the ground.
Osage's Dean and Jeffries have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Tri-County in both passing and receiving yards. Dean has thrown for 1132 yards this season, while Jeffries, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 34 catches for 554 yards. Devin Johnson's team's Lindsay leads the league in rushing yards with 675.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when California takes on Blair Oaks. The Pintos have allowed 26 points this season, while Brad Drehle's team has given up 59. California allowed 0 points last week as it topped Southern Boone.
Marty Albertson's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Eagles, 42-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Pintos.
