South Park hasn't had much luck against Center recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Burros will take on the Vikings at 1:00 p.m. South Park has given up an average of 19.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
South Park lost 18-2 to Platte Canyon on Friday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Center). Everything went their way against Trinidad on Monday as they made off with a 13-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.
Jose Cendejas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Center got a massive performance out of Ivan Guaderrama, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Guaderrama continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Damian Casanova was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Center kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Center's record now sits at 2-18. As for South Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
South Park might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Center in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Burros avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
