After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwood, the Union Pines Vikings were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-26 victory over Enloe. Given Union Pines' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Enloe is ranked 581st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Pines to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savannah McCaskill, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Alley Hise was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Union Pines has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Enloe, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Union Pines won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Chapel Hill at 4:30 p.m. on December 22nd. East Chapel Hill is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Enloe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knightdale at 6:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
