The Caliche Buffaloes had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 47-24 margin over Otis. This was payback for Caliche, who suffered a 75-45 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Caliche can attribute much of their success to Karsyn Huss, who scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hernandez, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Caliche's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Otis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Caliche will square off against Prairie at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Otis, they will head out on the road to face off against Peetz at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
