The Waskom Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Alvarado, falling 83-43. Waskom was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-24.
Leading Alvarado to victory were Joslyn Jarmon and Candra Bridgewater. Jarmon scored 23 points along with nine steals and six rebounds, while Bridgewater scored 39 points along with nine steals and eight rebounds. The contest was Bridgewater's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Cross, who scored five points.
Waskom's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Alvarado, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Waskom is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jefferson at 2:15 p.m. on January 2nd. Alvarado and East Bernard will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
