The Adams Cougars were the 73-33 winner over the Samuell Spartans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Adams took a 79-60 bruising from Samuell on Friday. Adams' loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Adams' loss came despite strong showings from Keiontay marsh and Terell Toomas. marsh scored 29 points, while Toomas scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was marsh's 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Offord, who scored two points along with five rebounds.
Adams has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Samuell, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.
Adams will be playing at home against North Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Micah Vaughn and marsh. As for Samuell, they will head out on the road to face off against Spruce at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
