The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars and the Edisto Cougars will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville pushed their score all the way to 62 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to North 66-62. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland-Hardeeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while North is ranked 74th).
Meanwhile, after soaring to 69 points the game before, Edisto were a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-25 loss at the hands of Orangeburg-Wilkinson. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Edisto has scored all season.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Edisto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville couldn't quite finish off Edisto in their previous matchup back in February and fell 47-44. Can Ridgeland-Hardeeville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
