The Newcastle Dogies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 41-25 bruising from Torrington. Newcastle has not had much luck with Torrington recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Torrington to victory were Landre Greiman and Weston Dyer. Greiman scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Dyer scored 13 points along with five steals. The match was Greiman's third in a row with at least ten points.
Newcastle's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Torrington, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newcastle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
