The Forest Park Bruins were the 72-67 winner over the Potomac Senior Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Forest Park took a 67-52 bruising from the Panthers on Friday. Forest Park has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Kenny DeGuzman was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight assists and five rebounds for Potomac Senior. It was the first time this season that DeGuzman posted eight or more assists. TJ Bethea was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Forest Park's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Potomac Senior, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Forest Park will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hylton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Bruins are ranked 63rd). As for Potomac Senior, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charles J. Colgan has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
