They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 55-53. Maria Carrillo was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Maria Carrillo still got an impressive performance from James Hillestad, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hillestad is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Nathan Dipman, who scored 11 points.
Maria Carrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for St. Vincent de Paul, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-3.
Maria Carrillo will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santa Rosa is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Cotate is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
