Owen Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Linton-Stockton Miners at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Owen Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Owen Valley, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-41 loss to Clay City. Owen Valley has struggled against Clay City recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Joey Ross, who scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrek Atkinson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Linton-Stockton posted their closest victory yet this season last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bloomfield and snuck past 46-43.
Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Linton-Stockton, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Owen Valley was dealt a bruising 81-48 defeat at the hands of Linton-Stockton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Owen Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
