Even though the Erwin Warriors scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the A.C. Reynolds Rockets still came out on top. A.C. Reynolds enjoyed a cozy 81-63 victory over Erwin. Given A.C. Reynolds' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Erwin is ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A.C. Reynolds' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaelan Gilliland, who scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilliland has scored all season. Zach Dickey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists.
A.C. Reynolds' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for Erwin, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing T.C. Roberson the next time they take the court. Erwin will host T.C. Roberson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while A.C. Reynolds will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
