Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Stillman Valley's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

After losing to North Boone the last time they met, Stillman Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Stillman Valley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for North Boone, with the defeat, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stillman Valley will head out to square off against Byron at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Boone, they will venture away from home to face off against Oregon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Hawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
