It was a good run, but the Union Rockets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Daleville 41-36. Union has struggled against the Broncos recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Union lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Glory Ellis, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Ellis has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Ogden, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Daleville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabelle Williams out in front who scored 16 points along with seven steals. Williams is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Addi Gothrup, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Daleville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.
Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Daleville will take on the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cowan is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
