The Shaw Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the North Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shaw is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Shaw scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 39-29 victory over Bard Early College. The victory was just what Shaw needed coming off of a 46-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyra Smith-Goard, who scored 21 points. Smith-Goard set a new season high mark in points with 21. Another player making a difference was Serenity Kent-cox, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, North came up short against Lake Catholic on Saturday and fell 33-26.
Shaw's win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for North, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Shaw strolled past North when the teams last played back in February of 2016 by a score of 47-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North's Samantha Pirosko, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Now that she won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Shaw to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
