It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-21, which was the final score in Western Hills' tilt against Lake Worth on Thursday. Western Hills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-0.
The losing side was boosted by Kyu Wilson, who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kennedale had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They didn't even let Diamond Hill-Jarvis onto the board and left with a 70-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Kennedale, who have now won four games by 32 points or more so far this season.
Kennedale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Coles, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Jeremiah Clea also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Lake Worth's win bumped their season record to 6-2 while Western Hills' loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Western Hills was dealt a bruising 38-0 loss at the hands of Kennedale in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Western Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
