Baseball Recap: Aledo Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Aledo won against Granbury on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Devin Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon Barnes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Blake Burdine was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Aledo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Granbury, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Aledo will square off against Azle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Hornets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Granbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
