North is 0-3 against Fairfax since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Stampede at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North has four straight victories, Fairfax has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, North got the win against Metro Tech by a conclusive 14-2. Considering the Mustangs have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Solis Coker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Figueroa, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Damaris Gutierez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Fairfax fell victim to Ironwood and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Stampede were not able to get on the board.
North pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. However, it's not like Fairfax struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North suffered a grim 17-6 defeat to Fairfax when the teams last played back in February of 2018. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
