After losing to the Canyon Springs Pioneers the last time they met, the Durango Trailblazers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Durango snuck past Canyon Springs with a 48-44 victory on Tuesday.
Durango was led to victory by Amia McKinney and Amarie Riley. McKinney scored 19 points, while Riley scored 18 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McKinney has scored all season. Valery Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Durango's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Canyon Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Durango will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canyon Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. Del Sol will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
