Tompkins dropped their record down to 13-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 9-1 to the Katy Taylor Mustangs. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 7-3.

As for Katy Taylor, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for Katy Taylor, who have now won 16 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Katy Taylor's part, Kaelyn Lerma was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Lerma was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jordan Talbert was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 4-for-4.
