The Wilmington Hurricane lost against the New Richmond Lions back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wilmington fell to New Richmond 58-54. Wilmington has not had much luck with New Richmond recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rylan Utter, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Trey Sininger was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Wilmington's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for New Richmond, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will square off against Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goshen is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games. New Richmond won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Clermont at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th.
