The McCollum Cowboys pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 71-56 fall against Harlandale. McCollum has not had much luck with Harlandale recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Harlandale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Salvador Guillen out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Guillen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Regalado, who scored 23 points along with five assists and two steals.
McCollum's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Harlandale, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
McCollum will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlandale, they will be playing at home against Southside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 18.
