The North Allegheny Tigers are on the road again on Friday and play against the Penn-Trafford Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on October 20th. North Allegheny has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 141 points over their last three contests.
Last Thursday, everything came up roses for North Allegheny on the road against Norwin as the team secured a 53-25 victory. The result was nothing new for North Allegheny, who have now won seven matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
North Allegheny can attribute much of their success to Logan Kushner, who threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Khiryn Boyd was in the mix too, providing North Allegheny with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Penn-Trafford strolled past Plum with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 21-6. Given Penn-Trafford's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Plum is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Penn-Trafford relied on the efforts of Tasso Whipple, who rushed for 154 yards, and Ben Grabowski, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Whipple is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Their wins bumped North Allegheny to 7-1 and Penn-Trafford to 4-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. North Allegheny has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 176.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Penn-Trafford struggles in that department as they've been even better at 234 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
North Allegheny strolled past Penn-Trafford when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 20-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Allegheny since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
