On Friday, The Hamlin Chargers faced the Parkston Trojans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hamlin's rough 26-3 defeat to Parkston might stick with them for a while. Hamlin's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Tyson Stevenson threw for 179 yards on 17 of 36 attempts. Zac VanMeeteren was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Hamlin's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Parkston, their win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Hamlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Parkston will take on Howard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howard is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
