Vanguard had won eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it nine. They walked away with a 20-7 win over the Dunnellon Tigers. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Knights were the (much) better team in the second half.

As for Dunnellon, they now have a losing record of 2-3. They have struggled against Vanguard recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Dunnellon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of William(Lj) Woods, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD, and Dylan Curry, who threw for 150 yards and one touchdown. Woods got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 86 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanguard will challenge Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Dunnellon, they will host Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
