There's no place like home for the Life Center Academy Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 75-30 victory over Lawrenceville School. The victory was all the more spectacular given Life Center Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Lawrenceville School is ranked 28th).
Life Center Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kiyomi McMiller led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. McMiller is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Shauna Curran was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist.
Life Center Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Lawrenceville School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Life Center Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 9:00 p.m. on January 12th. Varsity Opponent has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lawrenceville School, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Peddie at 4:00 p.m. Peddie comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
