The Monacan Chiefs will be playing at home against the Manchester Lancers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Monacan is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Monacan came up short against the Titans and fell 65-53.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Samuel Sims, who scored 18 points along with three steals. He hasn't dropped below 17 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tai Bowler, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manchester stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 84-62 margin over Midlothian. Given Manchester's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Trojans are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Monacan's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10. As for Manchester, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.
Monacan took a serious blow against the Lancers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 82-53. Will Monacan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
