Basketball Recap: Excelsior Classical Academy Extends Winning Streak to Two

Excelsior Classical Academy won the last time they faced Hawbridge, and Hunter Goss did his part to make sure it happened again. The Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions claimed a resounding 60-18 victory over the Hawbridge Herons thanks in part to Goss, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

Shawn Francis-Service was another key player, going 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points and four steals. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Excelsior Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Hawbridge, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Excelsior Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-54 victory against Henderson Collegiate on the 10th. As for Hawbridge, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Emerson Waldorf at 3:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
