Football Recap: State College Gets the Win

If Cumberland Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played State College, they should've done a better job of containing Rowan Walker. The Little Lions walked away with a 24-14 victory over the Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Walker, who rushed for 161 yards and one TD. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Zayden Smith and Colton Stamy certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Smith picked up 132 receiving yards and one score, while Stamy threw for 249 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 80 yards.

State College's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cumberland Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

State College didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-0 victory against Chambersburg on the 19th. As for Cumberland Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 24-15 win against Central Dauphin on the 19th.
