The Branson Pirates fell victim to the Webb City Cardinals''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 20-0 walloping at the hands of the Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Branson couldn't push the score so high this time.
Webb City found their leader in underclassman Gabe Johnson, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards.
Branson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Webb City, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Branson will be playing in front of their home fans against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Glendale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday. Webb City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
