Even though the Skyline Coyotes scored an imposing 62 points on Wednesday, the Red Mountain Mountain Lions still came out on top. Red Mountain took their matchup against Skyline 72-62. Given Red Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Skyline is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryce Bigler was a one-man wrecking crew for Red Mountain as he scored 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bigler has scored all season. Gage Lindsey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Jc Ameca, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joseph Fulkerson, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
The win got Red Mountain back to even at 10-10. As for Skyline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Red Mountain will head out on the road to take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Skyline, they will be playing at home against Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesa is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.6 points per game.
