The home team had won the previous two meetings between Daviess County and Owensboro, and Daviess County kept the tradition alive. Daviess County strolled past Owensboro with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 75-60.

Daviess County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lily Hoagland, who went 9-for-10 on her way to 20 points. What's more, Hoagland also posted a 90% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Kennedy Lane was another key player, going 9-for-14 to rack up 18 points.
Daviess County was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They are 16-7 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Owensboro Catholic's strategy against Apollo on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Owensboro Catholic blew Apollo out of the water with a 79-26 final score. The Aces have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.
Daviess County better keep an eye on Aubrey Randolph. She was instrumental in Owensboro Catholic's win, going 7-for-9 en route to 19 points and three steals. Randolph has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Mannahan, who went 7-for-10 on her way to 16 points and three steals.
Daviess County pushed their record up to 18-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games. As for Owensboro Catholic, their record now sits at 23-6.
Thursday's match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lane and Randolph. Lane has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 18.5 points, 1.4 steals, and 4 rebounds. For her part, Randolph has averaged 14.2 points, 3.1 steals, and 7 boards on 53.2% shooting.
