The Grapeland Sandies fell victim to the Garrison Bulldogs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 58-0. Grapeland just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Garrison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Omarion Rasberry, who rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Rasberry is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. Javien Black was another key contributor, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Grapeland's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.7 points per game. As for Garrison, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Coincidentally, Grapeland and Garrison will both be playing San Augustine the next time they take the field. Garrison will host San Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Grapeland will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
