Hawthorne is 7-1 against North Marion since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Hawthorne Hornets will get right back to it and host the North Marion Colts at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Hawthorne's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Hawthorne put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They breezed by Bradford at home to the tune of 76-43. With Hawthorne ahead 47-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.
CJ Ingram was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Caleb Rollerson, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, North Marion beat Land O' Lakes 42-30 on Saturday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points North Marion has scored all year.
Hawthorne pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Marion, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Hawthorne strolled past North Marion in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-44. Does Hawthorne have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
