Melrose waltzed into their match  on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Elida Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-2  on October 9th.
 Melrose was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21,  25-12.
Among those leading the charge was   Shylynn Downey, who  had 12  digs and three  aces.
 Downey wasn't the only good servers: Melrose  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 12  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least eight  aces in seven consecutive  contests.
Melrose's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Elida, they moved to 18-3 with that  defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.
