Softball Recap: Union County Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

While Union County put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for P.K. Yonge. The Fightin' Tigers put the hurt on the Blue Wave with a sharp 12-0 victory. Considering the Fightin' Tigers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Union County got a massive performance out of Leanne Dicks, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Courtney Manning was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Union County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in six consecutive matches.

Union County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for P.K. Yonge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Union County will square off against Dixie County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fightin' Tigers are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for P.K. Yonge, they will welcome Interlachen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
