The Heritage Patriots will square off against the JW North Huskies at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Heritage came up short against Arlington and fell 14-9. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly five runs.
Natalia York made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Autyana Cisneros, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Meanwhile, JW North narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hillcrest 11-10.
Audrina Camacho was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Angelina Martinez was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
JW North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 10-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
JW North has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Heritage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like JW North struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage couldn't quite finish off JW North in their previous matchup back in April and fell 11-9. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
