In what's become a running theme this season, the Fernley Vaqueros gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Lowry 66-33 at home. Winning may never get old, but Fernley sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Fernley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Dunagan-Stephens out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheldon Jacobson, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Lowry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Guzman, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kasyn Garner, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Fernley's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.93 points. As for Lowry, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fernley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elko at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Lowry, they will head out on the road to take on Spring Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Spring Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Wednesday.
