Among those leading the charge was Mikayla King, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailyn Samuel, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Great Mills had strong showings from A'Naija Bush, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, and Abril Esparza, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
McDonough now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Great Mills, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonough will take on Thomas Stone at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomas Stone is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Great Mills, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Point at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in North Point's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
