Master's Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Calvary Chapel Academy since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Master's Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Downey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Calvary Chapel Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past City of Life Christian Academy 9-3 on Monday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Armando Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Ski Bryant looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Conner Wolfe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Sebastian Gerace was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
Master's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-17.
Calvary Chapel Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Master's Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. It's a different story for Calvary Chapel Academy, though, as they've only averaged .192. Will they be able to contain Master's Academy's hitters?
