Riley Washburn put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Jade Fowler made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Munford let Briarcrest Christian stack six runs on them in the second inning on Friday but luckily Munford prevailed anyway. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Saints 7-6.
Gabby Asbill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Ellie Kate Billings was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kadence Brewer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millington Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Munford struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millington Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Munford in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 18-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
