Brennan is 3-0 against the WILDCATS since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Brennan Bears will head out on the road to take on the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 7:30 p.m. Brennan is coming into the match hot, having won their last 15 games.
Brennan put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Stevens at home to the tune of 88-25. Brennan's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Brennan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Flemings, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Ross was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sotomayor strolled past the Raiders with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-32. Given Sotomayor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Raiders are ranked 721st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brennan pushed their record up to 26-3 with that win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Sotomayor, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-8.
Everything came up roses for Brennan against the WILDCATS in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 67-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brennan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
