Tri let Keirra Mettert and Lyla Williams run wild. Mettert went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Williams went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Mettert a new career-high. Faith McCrobie was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Tri always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morristown only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Winchester Community entered their game against Cambridge City Lincoln on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Golden Falcons lost 21-7 to the Golden Eagles.
Ava Lanter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Campbell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Winchester Community's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Tri, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tri has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. However, it's not like Winchester Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tri took their win against Winchester Community in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Golden Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
