The Raleigh Charter Phoenix lost against the Cary Academy Chargers back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Raleigh Charter was beaten by Cary Academy 62-23. Raleigh Charter has not had much luck with Cary Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Annalise Dematteis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cary Academy, scoring 31 points along with seven steals. Dematteis set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Smith, who scored 12 points.
Raleigh Charter's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Cary Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Raleigh Charter will look to defend their home court on January 4, 2024 against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. Princeton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Cary Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Wake at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully South Wake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday.
