Gateway won the last time they faced Sierra and things went their way on Saturday too. The Olympians were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Stallions. The Olympians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Heber Almeida was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Gateway: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Petersen, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Gateway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra only posted an OBP of .370.

Gateway has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Sierra, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Gateway didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-3 win against Thornton on the 15th. As for Sierra, they have also already played their next match, a 31-1 loss against Woodland Park on the 14th.
