Berwick is 1-8 against Lake-Lehman since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Berwick is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand MMI Preparatory School a 21-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Morgan Siegel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Emma Welsh was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Hunter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Berwick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lake-Lehman waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Warriors. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.
Like Berwick, Lake-Lehman also got a great game from a two-way player: Hannah Chipego. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Chipego has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kirsten Finarelli, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Kaitlyn Brudnicki was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Lake-Lehman's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Berwick, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berwick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Lake-Lehman struggles in that department as they've averaged .425. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berwick might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Lake-Lehman in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
